I just finished the book, “Birth of a Warrior” by Elmer Fuller and I really enjoyed it.

The story centers on a young man, Benaiah, determined to prove his worth to his father and his village by showing his bravery in fighting in a war during David’s time. Along the way, we learn more of Benaiah’s history and of the town bully, Natan, who is a thorn in his side. Benaiah’s faith is inspirational and makes it easy to cheer him on.

The characters’ development were interesting and learning about the culture and customs of David’s time were fascinating.

The descriptions of the actual battles were vivid, and kept you on the edge of your seat.

This is the first book in a series, and I am looking forward to its continuation. I highly recommend “Birth of a Warrior”.
